I apologize for no newsletter this week!! We have been busy! We are still working on 3 letter blends. This week we have been working on spr-, str-, and still practicing with squ-. We will take a test on Friday over words with these blends along with the sight words: of, off, many, and other.
In Math we have been working hard on skip counting! Have them practice skip counting at home! They can skip count by 2's, 3's, 4's, 5's, 10's, anything! For example: 3, 6, 9, 12..
DON'T FORGET: No School next week for Thanksgiving break and our 1st grade Christmas program is Tuesday December 3rd at 6:00 p.m. at the high school auditorium! Also, Scholastic book orders should be here by Friday so keep an eye out for the books that were ordered in your child's backpack!
Today we talked about what it means to be thankful and brainstormed all of the things that we were thankful for and happy to have in our lives! The kids were so honest with their answers! I posted some pictures below of the kids working intensely on their, "I am thankful for.." pages.
I am thankful that you as a parent trust me with your child every day. I am thankful for the opportunity to teach them and see them smile, learn, and grow! I am thankful for such amazing parents, grandparents, and guardians who do so much to help me and do things for our class! As your child's teacher I am thankful for your support, understanding, and cooperation.
I have also posted pictures of our two friends Trey Smith and Kutter Dollarhide with the bucks they killed a few weeks ago! We are so proud of them!
