Behavior Calendar & ClassDojo

Here is a picture of the Behavior Calendar that your child will use to track their behavior at the end of each day.

Today the students tracked their behavior for the first time. For example if your child had a 0 in their box for today that just means they did not get any Dojo points (positive or negative).  If your child had a +1, +2, or +3 that means they received that many positive points throughout the day which is awesome!  If your child had a -1, -2 or - anything that means they had points taken away for negative behaviors.  They should be able to tell you what their points were taken away for but if you are still unsure check your child's report for today on the app and it will tell you specifically what the points were taken away for.. (Not keeping hands to self, Talking Out of Turn, Making Silly Noises, etc.)

If you haven't yet please take a minute to download the free ClassDojo app and sign up for a parent account using the parent code that I gave you in your Open House packet!  If you need your parent code again just let me know!  This app has a messenger that works as the most effective way to communicate with me at any time, it will give you immediate feedback on your child's behavior throughout the day as well as send you an automatic email on Friday regarding your child's weekly behavior report!

Please message me on ClassDojo or email me with any questions you might have! Thank you for your support! :)

First Day of 2nd Grade!

Our first day went by so fast but it was filled with fun and new friends!  Monday morning we sat down and spent some time getting to know one another better.  After we shared something about our self we tossed the ball of yarn to another person in the group.  In the end we had made a web.  We concluded that in the web we were all connected just like we are in our classroom.  Each student is special and brings a unique set of qualities and skills to our classroom family making it one of a kind! :)

This group picture was taken after our second recess of the day.  We were clearly all hot, tired, sweaty, and looking directly into the sun but, we got a group picture on the first day none the less!

Meet Ms. Poole

Hello! Just wanted to introduce myself to all of my students this year and their parents.  My name is Ms. Poole and I am originally from Cedarville, Arkansas.  I graduated from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma in 2010 with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.  I am currently attending classes through Arkansas State University to complete my Masters Degree in Educational Leadership.

This is my fifth year teaching and every year I get just as excited as I did my very first year!  I have previously taught fourth and first grades before teaching second.  This is my second year teaching second grade and also my second year as a Fountain Lake cobra!  At Fountain Lake we are committed to helping every child succeed every day. Every student is important to every teacher, and we will always make decisions based on what is best for the child.

When I am not working at school I love to go to various Flea Markets and Antique Malls looking for what most people consider, "junk".  I love being able to give new life to vintage pieces that have stories to tell.  I actually have a Flea Market booth where I sell all of the creations that I make and I enjoy it so much.  I also love to be outside, whether I am watering my flowers, going for a hike, or just enjoying the fresh air on my back porch, there is nothing quite like the great outdoors.

I am looking forward to an absolutely wonderful school year while working with you and your children!   If you have a question or concern about anything, do not hesitate..call me, message me on classdojo or email me! I try to keep all lines of communication open at all times throughout the year.  I promise that if I do not know an answer to a question or concern you have, I will find someone that does.

Thank you and have a great year!
