Frankenworms Science Experiment

Last Friday we did a science experiment called Frankenworms where we used the Scientific method to try and bring gummy worms back to life!

First, they cut their gummy worms in half to make them skinnier!

Next, they put their gummy worms in a cup of baking soda/water mixture. They let the worms soak in this mixture for about 20 minutes!

Then, they used a fork to remove their worms from the baking soda/water mixture and place then in a jar of vinegar!

Finally, they watched the gummy worms come to life as the worms started to jiggle and wiggle all around!

Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who came and helped me make this project successful! The kids had an awesome time and learned about the scientific method in the process!

Even though we didn't get a win last night the Panthers played hard and the kids did an amazing job showing their school spirit all week and supporting their team!  Here are some pics from each day that we dressed up this week!

Monday was "Nerd/Tacky" day..  Cutest nerds I have ever seen!

Tuesday was "Western" day

Wednesday was "Superhero" day.. This day was probably their favorite!!

Superman came to save the day!

Their best superhero poses!! Love it!

Thursday was "Color" day and all of first grade wore RED!

We had so much fun at the pep rally Friday morning dancing to the music of the band and cheering with the cheerleaders!
